Going to the Parade

Hello, we went to the River City Round-Up Parade to day and had such a good time. Grandma and Grandpa Truax went and Grandpa Diehm went. Ally really liked all the horses and bands playing but her favorite was all the candy she got. She had a bag full when we left!

I just have to say I was actually disappointed in the parade this year. I remember as a kid it being so much bigger and better and even when I was in it in high school (all 4 yrs.) there were way more participants. Can you believe there were only 3 bands! That's it! North, Yutan, and Burke. Where was Central, any Bellevue schools...nope, not a one. Not that I'm saying I didn't have fun because I did. Anyday I get to spend with my family is great but I just thought it would be a little different.

We also decided to take Ally to the slides downtown.....she did not want to leave! She loved going down the slide. Dan went with of course and she screamed the whole way down and loved every minute of it. She has no fear! She wanted to do it herself and was mad that we wouldn't let her. We will have to go back and do it again.

Anyway, I then went to the Bryan Craft Fair to support my Mother and Aunt Eileen. They did such a good job displaying all their crafts they have worked so hard on. Good Job guys!

Now we are watching the Husker game so I better get back, I think they need me. :)

Busy with Family

Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing well. Dan's Mom and Dad are with us for the next few days or so. They came up for the Nebraska vs. New Mexico State game on Saturday. Go Huskers!! They met some friends there and Dan and Jimeal went along with Michael and his brother in-law(he works and plays softball with Dan). They all had a great time and after the game they got to meet Bo Pellini and Barney Cotton.(the head coach and the offensive line coach) Apparently Dan's Mom and Dad " have connections" if you know what I mean.:) They went to the field house and got to see all the Championship trophy's too. Maybe we can get another trophy this year?... I said "maybe".

Dan had a softball game yesterday so we all went to that and it was a great game! They did so good. Everyone hit really well and even though they had a few errors fielding they had a few more great plays and ended up winning 19-9. Yeah!! They actually have a winning record now...2-1

We took Grandma and Grandpa T to Rick's Boat Yard Cafe today for lunch and it was soo good! We ate outside and it was a little cool. We all had to wear our jackets. You can see the new bridge from Omaha to Council Bluffs from there. I'm not sure when it opens up so you can walk across it but I think it should be soon. It looks pretty cool anyway.

Then we went to the zoo for a little while and took Grandma to see the butterflies. It was such a beautiful day to go. Ally has been out ever since we got home. Well, we are going to take it easy tonight I think and maybe play some "train game".

Ally's Halloween Costume

Ok, so I know it's a little early to be talking about Halloween but if I don't get something now while I am thinking about it then it will be the last week and everything will be sold out. So, I got Ally a costume now!:) It's a little big, but she looks super cute in her new Cinderella outfit. Ok here's the deal, the "actual" halloween costumes were a little expensive but a few rows down from them at Target are the "pretend" princess outfits and they were way cuter and a couple a $'s cheaper. Go figure! Anyway, she loves it, I put it on her to check the size and she didn't want to take it off. She kept saying "Cinderelly". By the way, did I mention that she LOVES the princesses right now. It's pretty much all she talks about or wants to watch. Now I just have to pray she still likes Cinderella in October.
P.S. Guess what we want to wear today(Tues. am)? Duh, the Cinderella dress! So, if you see me out and about today I might just be with a beautiful princess!

Labor Day Weekend

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all had a nice Labor Day weekend. Ally and I enjoyed spending some time with Daddy, he got off early from work on Friday and we went to the zoo for a couple hours. I didn't see him much on Sat. but Sunday we spent most of the day playing the "train game". I talked about it a little before (we have played with Sarah and Jason). It's this board game that has almost everyone I know who has played it HOOKED! Why can't I come up with stuff like this!?

We went over Grandma and Grandpa's today for dinner and played a game with them. I even got Mom and Gina hooked! Anyway, we ate too much food and we got to spend a little time with Aunt Susie. Papa has almost finished painting the house, it looks good. It's different but good. I don't know why I am having such a hard time with this, I guess it's just another thing from my childhood that is no longer the same. I have always known my Mom and Dad's house to be yellow. It has ALWAYS been yellow. Now it is like a muted brown or maybe tan color. It looks good but it just doesn't seem like my house. Weird huh!?

We also had a little tragedy, Doc, my parents family dog, bit Ally tonight. He has NEVER shown signs of anything like this before. He didn't get her real bad, just a little scratch by her eye, but nonetheless he bit her. She had been following him around all weekend and I should have been keeping a better eye on her around him, but you know how this stuff happens... very quickly. Ally kept saying, "Doc got my face, Doc bit my face" I told her Doc was a bad boy so that's what she keeps saying. I think she was shocked more than anything that he would do that to her. (as were we) So, I don't know what else to say.....I can't believe he did it and I am SO thankful that it wasn't any worse.
